An Award-Winning Civic Landmark & Indigenous Cultural Space The Spirit Garden is a 20,650-square-foot Indigenous cultural space at Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square, designed to provide opportunities for teaching, learning, sharing, and healing. This inclusive space responds in part to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Call to Action 82, honoring residential school survivors and all the children lost to their families and communities. Centered around the theme of Turtle Island, the site is fully accessible and features a reflecting pond, a Two Row Wampum walkway, a Spirit Canoe, an Inukshuk, and a timber-frame Teaching Lodge. As the Lead Architectural Fabricator, I translated the intricate site plans of Gow Hastings Architects and Two Row Architect into a Total Fidelity architectural model and a cinematic visualization suite. This highly celebrated project has been honored with prestigious industry accolades, including the 2025 Wood Design & Building Honor Award and the 2025 North American Copper in Architecture Award.
